Students enrolled in Auburn Career Center’s Landscape Horticulture program will be holding their annual Spring Plant Sale starting on Monday, April 30, 2012 and ending when all plants are sold.  Auburn’s Horticulture building and greenhouse are located at 10985 Girdled Road, right behind the high school.  Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 10:30 am and 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.  A wide variety of plants and Proven Winners hanging baskets will be available.

Kelsie Oder, Sadie Mann and Jordan Rihaly, Auburn Career Center’s Allied Health students, have been volunteering for the last few months at the Louis Stokes Cleveland V.A. Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  They have volunteered over 40 hours each to this project that is to meet the requirements of the SkillsUSA State of Ohio competition called American Spirit.

Auburn Career Center’s Senior Patient Care Technician class will once again work alongside Lake Metro Parks representatives to help cleanup Fairport Harbor Beach to get it ready of all to enjoy safely by May.  We will be raking, picking up garbage, and gathering driftwood from 9am until approximately 1pm on Monday, April 16^th. Students are learning about “Earth Day” and  their duty to become good citizens.  Our volunteer work will make the beach area much cleaner and safer for the residents of Fairport Harbor and all those who walk the beaches for exercise. Ms. Lee Garam from the Lake Metro Park System will  work with us providing rakes, buckets , bags etc.
