| Cancellations | |
| Classes may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met. Auburn's Adult Education Program reserves the right to cancel, discontinue, postpone or combine courses before or after the first scheduled class. Students enrolled in a class course that must be cancelled will be contacted by phone. A student may transfer to another class two business days before the first scheduled class date. Auburn cannot assume responsibility for any conflict in business or personal affairs that result from class cancellations. |
| Career Assessment/Counseling | |
| If you are.. 1) Unsure of your job skills, 2) looking for a job change, 3) unemployed or underemployed, 4) need to identify a college major... Then career assessment is what you need! Interests, abilities, work values and personality traits are blended to point you to your best career direction. Program includes testing plus one hour of career counseling. Cost of this assessment is $100.00. |
| Certification | |
| A certificate of completion from Auburn Career Center is awarded to each student who satisfactorily completes required course work and attends 90% of scheduled course. |
| Eligibility | |
| Registration is open to any adult or student over the age 16 years who is not enrolled in a regular high school program. High school applicants are required to have written permission from their parents and their school principal or counselor prior to registration for Adult Education classes. |
| Inclement Weather | |
| All evening classes are automatically cancelled if the high school is cancelled for the day. When weather conditions deteriorate throughout the day, it is suggested to tune in local television stations or listen to local radio stations for information. |
| Non-Discrimination Policy | |
| The Auburn Vocational School District affirms that no person shall, on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin or handicap, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activities conducted under its auspices. This shall extend to employees therein and admissions thereto. Inquiries concerning the application of this policy may be referred to the superintendent or designated coordinator. | Policies and Procedures | |
| Auburn Career Center shall not be held liable for any injury(s) to individuals while on Auburn Career Center properties or any loss(es) and/or damage(s) to an individual's property that may occur while on Auburn Career Center properties. All students are responsible for following safety codes and procedures related to individual study courses. Students are expected to respect and adhere to school policies and course regulations. All students enrolled in any program at Auburn Career Center are expected to abide by good conduct and self-discipline. |
| Refund Policy | |
| Students wishing to withdraw from a registered class may receive a refund if the request is made two business days prior to the first day of class. A withdrawal fee of $10 will be deducted. Classes are self-supporting; there are no refunds after classes begin. Refunds will be mailed within 30 days of withdrawal. |
| Safety | |
| Some adult career programs required protective clothing and/or safety equipment. It is mandatory that students wear or use this equipment in every hands-on class. This includes safety glasses which may be purchased in the adult education office. |
| Textbook and Lab Fees | |
| Unless specified, textbook and laboratory fees are not included in the cost of the program. Students may purchase textbooks from the adult education office. In some classes, students my be required to have their own hand tools |
