Auburn's Workforce Education Department offers a number of Fire Science Courses, including:
 
Firefighter I & 2 Firefighter 1 & 2 training and education program is designed to train students for an entry-level position into the fire service. Extra time spent on building construction, ropes and EVOC. A student who has successfully completed the Firefighter 1 & 2 course is eligible to take the certification examination. Classes are held Thursdays and Saturdays as well as some Fridays and Sundays. Additional fees may apply for immunizations, fingerprints and drug screening. ODPS#302 
 
Prerequisite REQUIRED before the start of class:
 AHA CPR and First Aid Card. 
Preferred:
 ODPS EMS certification. 
Certifications: 244 ODPS Firefighter Certification, 16 EVOC Course

The Fire Inspector Program is an 80-hour, 2-week course going over the State of Ohio Curriculum. The course uses the International Association of Fire Chiefs Fire Inspector Principles and Practice 1st Edition book, Ohio Fire Code and Ohio Building Code. Students do not have to purchase the codebook's if sponsoring department or student has current up to date Ohio Fire Code and Ohio Building Code books. The course is a mix of didactic and practical application. Students will utilize Blackboard online learning to do take-home work.
