Do you like to be in the classroom? Can you see yourself in the world of education? Do you like to buy school supplies? If you love working with children and want a rewarding career, then the Teaching Professions Pathway program is for you.
Students are exposed to classroom management skills, teaching methods, lesson planning and classroom organization. Students work together on assignments and projects, all while improving communication and social skills that will benefit them later in their careers. They also learn to manage deadlines, improve their writing skills and become more organized.
Internships at Lakeland’s TLC offer hands-on opportunities for students to participate in preschool classrooms. In addition, students have the opportunity to experience elementary, middle school, special education, and high school classrooms.
Students create fun projects while learning about child growth and development, learner characteristics, community involvement, instructional planning and safe, healthy learning environments. Students have the potential to earn college credit and participate in our Career Technical Student Organization called Educators Rising. This gives students the added bonus to compete in an event that interests them while giving them the confidence to move forward on their career pathway.
